Synergism of andisol soil and foundry sand mixture as adsorbent of nickel (II) metal ion

چکیده

Abstract A mixture of andisol soil and foundry sand as Ni 2+ ion adsorbent was studied in this research. Andisol were activated using 3M NaOH. The characterizations adsorbents carried out by Fourier Transform Infrared Analyzer (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscopy-mapping Energy Dispersive X-Ray (SEM-EDX), Surface Area (SAA). made mixing with various compositions 100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75, 0:100 (wt%). adsorption metal performed on pH solution 3-7 contact time 10-110 minutes the batch system. Based research, optimum conditions for 75:25 (wt%) at 6 95 an capacity 0.3967 mg/g percentage 72.59%. Adsorption kinetics tend to follow pseudo-second-order. type isotherm is more dominant following Langmuir isotherm. Nickel electroplating waste 0.2777 mg/g.
